WEC News: Alexandre Nogueira Tests Positive For Steroid, One Year Suspension

The California State Athletic Commission has suspended WEC featherweight Alexandre “Pequeno” Nogueira for testing positive for Boldenone following his performance at WEC 34 which took place June 1 at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA.
Nogueira will have to serve a one year suspension and pay a $2500 fine before being eligible for reinstatement by the CSAC. He will have have an opportunity to appeal the ruling.
Boldenone is commonly used as a horse steroid in veterinary medicine. The Ultimate Fighter veteran Stephan Bonner and Kit Cope of MTV fame, were also busted for the use of this steroid in 2006.
