Vince McMahon: UFC Cuts Into Boxing Not WWE

By CagE | March 25, 2009

mcmahon

WWE chairman Vince McMahon on UFC’s competition with Wrestling:

Most people thought at one point that we would be competitors. But it turns out they are not competition to us at all, or hardly at all. They are sport, we are entertainment; it’s a huge difference. The revenue they have cut into is that of boxing. [THR]

McMahon has a point, after watching the hybrid boxing/mma card “March Badness”, it was certainly clear that the two sport cultures are completely different.

Thats why WWE and Vice are so rich. McMahon could by out the UFC 100 times over and legalize steroids. Vince is in his 60’s and would KO Dana White.

Aaahhhh no, UFC is bringing in more money then the WWE now and UFC is hurting them also. WWE’s PPV’s are as high as they used to be and none of them do as well as any UFC PPV except for some of their big ones like WM but UFC is winning in sales… and respect. lol I know several people that can’t be entertained by fake crap after watching real fights.

i don’t know, i used to be a big pro wrestling fan until mma caught my attention. Now when I try to watch raw I just sit there and think “man i wish they were really kicking each others ass.” So I usually get bored and turn off raw and get on this website to read about more MMA. MMA forever. I love this shit.

Seriously are you kidding me….i know the WWE is hurting just a bit right now but honestly Vince makes more money in a total year than UFC does, look at the stock reports for WWE it will tell you how much they made…the UFC is catching up but honestly it doesnt matter there two different sports one is actually real and the other is sports entertainment….the UFC isnt hurthing the WWE, the market in general is hurting them. By the way who cares about the fake wrestling anyways, it doesnt matter Vince is a billionaire and runs a billion dollar company while the UFC isnt one yet but will be eventually.

Tim you are correct Vince built an empire out of pro wrestling and is a smart guy. Anyone who thinks Vince is not rich just check the picture of a grown man kissing his bare steroid ass. Now that is filthy rich power.

I do think that the WWE is getting hurt by the UFC in PPV sales and Boxing is almost a sport of the past. Vince is a Damn smart man a put Pro Wrestling where it is today and Dana White Put the UFC where Its At But from what i have read in 08 UFC Had 7 of the top 10 PPV Boxing had 2 and Wrestling had 1 so that has to say something about wrestling and also to that 2 of Vinces Wrestlers has switch to mma and i have herd of rumors of 2 more that may switch to mma ( Kurt Angle And Jack Swagger ) has to say something about the the sport of mma i do know iam a mma fan For Life ONE MORE ROUND
