I just don’t understand why there’s so much hate/disdain for Kimbo in the MMA community. If the time comes and Kimbo fights a purported “real” fighter and he gets his ass handed to him, so what. The worst thing that could happen for MMA as a sport is that it gets some much needed publicity. What most of you that are up-in-arms about Kimbo’s existence in MMA don’t understand is, a lot of people in the U.S. don’t even care about MMA. Until Kimbo arrived it got as much pub as a WNBA game. If he tries and doesn’t succeed, so be it. Until such time, just shut up and watch. Or don’t watch. Either way, just shut up.

Talk that just a marketing tool stuff if you want too
this is something that was destined to happen and
you can best believe when he has to get down and
dirty I pity the opponent that wounds him because
from witnessing the wounded warrior seems as if it
only makes him stronger.

From the way things are he’ll be tested but that’s
when he’ll win more people over “Kimbo Real Deal”!

Marketing strategy=give Kimbo as many cans to crush as possible.

Nice to see you value a fighter who best oppoent so far was a very aged tank abbott. Congrats on spoting that diamond in the ruff. The rest of us here must just be blinded by Kimbo stellar talents.

When he fights someone who isn’t there just to fall down I’ll start seeing him as an actual fighter and not just a marketing tool for eliteXC.

He HAS the tools. He is working with Bas ( who must see something in him and no, it’s not $$$ ), he’s dedicated to become a better fighter. And they’re grooming him sloooowly. It’s a beautiful strategy marketing and career-wise!

If they concentrate on his ground game. he will be force to be reckoned with.

And, oh my god…he loses! So what?!? He can fight again!

It’s funny…there were alot of Japanese pro wrestlers, that, in the United States, would have been scoffed at had they stepped foot into the ring.

Sakaraba went on to be ” The Grace Hunter “. Why can’t Kimbo be successful?

the majority of HW fights are spent striking but they still need to be well rounded. i’m not knocking kimbo he is a marketing machine, but like these guys are saying, you have to prove yourself against good fighters. i hope this is the last tune up for kimbo.

EXACTLY!!!!!! Kevin Ferguson AKA Kimbo the Bimbo is a flat out nobody, finally he is facing someone with a winning record but this guy he is facing has a weak chin and has no ground game either, its a discrace for the MMA world, man put him in with former champs current champs but then again, he is fighting in a low class league at the moment.

how do you know? Who have you seen him knock out? If you put the ground game aside that is called boxing. These guys train their entire lives in Martial Arts and you think because he can knock out some nobody’s and learn the clinch he’s going to be a champion? He’s making a lot of money off of a lot of people. But he will never be an MMA champion in a legitimate league.

ESPN is really scraping the barrel wasn’t there any other MMA fighter on that card they could have done this show on???

People swear kimbo is better then slice bread they need to take a breather and stop watching the youtube highlight reels 24/7.
