Video: Chuck Liddell Denies Rumors, Not Giving Up Anytime Soon

Former UFC light heavyweight fighter discusses recent rumors of him fighting either Anderson Silva or Randy Couture in 2009.

A lot of rumors are floating around saying Liddell and his management don’t want to mix it up with Randy Couture for the forth time, but the UFC is pushing for it.

  1. i'm glad he's not retiring, although he's not a top contender he's still a gateway fighter and i believe he still has a few ass whoppin's to give ahead of him. as much as I (and probably the mma world) would like to see him fight Anderson Silva that just wouldn't be a good fight for him. i like to see him fight Vera or the winner of Frankiln/Henderson .

  2. I totally agree. I would also like to see chuck beat jardine.

  3. Hell yeah Chuck against Rich Franklin would be a bad ass fight. No way Chucks retiring unless he gets KO'd bad again like he did with Rashad. He loves fighting and he's not a heavy pace fighter so he doesnt waste that much energy when he fights.

  4. I looke at the two guys who are fighting for the title. Rashad and Forrest. and I can see Chuck beating those guys so I don't think Chuck is a gateway fighter. He would be the first to hang it up if he thought he was a gateway fighter. I think he's got one more round of fights left in him to get the title back so we'll see how he does.

  5. dane drebin says:

let's see chuck beat on coleman after shogun beats his ass so we can see chuck vs coleman next lol…

although i think coleman still has some life in him a lot of people say he is like ken shamrock but i think he still could get some wins in the ufc. i would like to see him fight tito if tito was still in the ufc i think they are practically the same fighter.

  6. Does anyone else look at the Evans v Griffin fight and think wtf? I could not think of a more boring, uninspiring match up, let alone title fight! for a division that is "so rich in talent" how the hell has Forrest fucking Griffin ended up champion and Evans the number one contender?? or am I being harsh on the both of them??

  7. just another mma dud says:

Yeah, Zulu, I am having a hard time getting excited about this match up. I can't get past the notion that they are 2 game show contestants. I'm I wrong to think that? Sure they have the guts to get out and fight but would either of these guys even be on our radar if it weren't for TUF? Let alone a title fight? I am going to throw this out there at the risk of being shunned; MMA is getting a bit boring to me when fighters are known for their camps and their game plans rather than their ability and talent. I see so many fighters who are working hard to not lose they forget to win. Sorry for the rant, fella's. Just my feeling.

  8. They are both good fighters but yeah they are boring to watch. I kinda miss the old Forrest that wasn't so technical and swung for the fences.

  9. dane drebin says:

if rashad beats forest is the the only ufc champ in ufc history to be undefeated and champion at the same time? i almost want rashad to beat forest so wand can beat rampage and be the first one to humble rashad and become champ at the same time… in a perfect world me friends haha

  10. sounds perfect to me too, i think rashad will win and rampage wandy i am still in the air about.

  11. The problem, Kash, is that Forrest had holes in his game and he wanted to fix them. I agree, he was more entertaining to watch, but he just wasn't as good like that. And Zulu, they got to where they are by beating the top guys. Simply put. Granted, I think there are some people that Evans probably should have fought before he got to number 1 contender, but there is nothing you or I can do about that. I hope Liddell can get himself back up there, because I think Lidell vs. a lot of these top guys now would be interesting. I think a couple could take him, but I think he can beat most of them. And Dane, I hope just ANYONE humbles Evans. Soon as possible. I think you may be right though, Silva might be the one to do it.
