Vallie –Flagg Faces Martins at Strikeforce “Melendez versus Healy”

Finally, the co-headliner for Strikeforce “Melendez versus Healy” is out. Its lightweights Isaac Vallie –Flagg and Adriano Martins will fight each other on September 29. This was according to Strikeforce promotion officials last Friday.

This new contest will pit great fighters against each other with the main event between reigning titlist Gilbert Melendez and fighter challenger Pat Healy. This impressive lineup will take place at the Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento. California and will be seen on Showtime and Showtime Extreme.

Isaac Vallie – Flagg is 34 years old from Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. He has been one of the strongest fighters in the lightweight division with 13 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw to his name. He remains undefeated for 10 matches with an exception of a draw against Ken Jackson at the C3 Fights – Slammin Jammin Weekend 5 in August 2010. His recent win was a split decision against Gesias Cavalcante at Strikeforce “Barnett verses Cormier” last May 2012. Vallie – Flagg is known to finish his opponents be either knockout or submission and has never been knocked out since he started his MMA professional career.

Adriano Martins on the other hand is a 30 year old fighter from Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. He has 23 wins and 6 losses to his name with a huge percentage of his wins via technical knockout or knockouts. He has four consecutive wins and he is looking for his fifth when he battles Vallie- Flagg and his latest victim was Jimmy Donahue at the Jungle Fight 37 last March 2012; this fight again ended in a technical knockout that only lasted for 1 minute and 2 seconds of the first round. His last defeat was over a year ago against Francisco Trinaldo at the Jungle Fight 30 in July 2011. He recently signed for Strikeforce last month which earned him a chance to fight Vallie-Flagg, one of the most impressive lightweight fighters at Strikeforce.

The “Melendez versus Healy” match is a match up that fans have been looking forward to all these time. Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez is unstoppable at 21 wins and only 2 losses to his name. Pat “Bam Bam” Healy on the other hand is also a superb fighter with 28 wins and 1 losses to his card and will be a perfect match for Melendez for the Strikeforce lightweight fight of year.
