UFC “Rio” Anderson Silva vs Yushin Okami Official

The Ultimate Fighting Championships have announced that Anderson Silva will defend his middleweight title against top contender Yushin Okami at UFC in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 27th.

There first fight in 2006 at Rumble on the Rock ended by disqualification after Anderson Silva landed a illegal upkick that forced Yushin Okami out of the fight. Since that loss, The Spider has racked up a impressive 14 fight winning streak.

  1. Aldo Raine says:

So much for GSP vs Silva. Another easy win for Silva

  2. I don't think its going to be an easy fight. I think it's going to be worse, a boring fight. Silva has the advantage but Okami is a hard guy to put away.

  3. Silva vs gsp could still happen. Gsp could use some of that extra time to slowly put on weight like he's been saying he would.

  4. Nikdiazisgay says:

Another fight with Anderson silva that's gonna be soooo boring. They have just wasted silva. Who cares about this. I'm not gonna pay for this one

  5. Cláudio Enner says:

Anderson Silva é muito mais superior, ele vai vencer no primeiro Round.

  6. ya this fight is crap, just set up the gsp, silva fight and give silva the time off to lose weight and train and gsp time to bulk up and train get it over with we only liuve once lets not all die of old age before a good fight happens instead of constant poop fights like atleast let vitor velfort get a rematch with silva asap instead of seeting of okami thats retarded you use to set up instant rematches years ago why not now vitor can beat him, stupid monkey kicks!

  7. I think Anderson Silva should go up weight and fight Jon Jones since he normally weigh 205. He was successful in all his 205 fights so why not.

  8. anderson claims he and jones are friends and he won't fight him. i don't think jones could qualify for a superfight without at least a few title defenses either.

  9. John Jones!!! That will be the fight of the year!!!

  10. Jones vs Silva would be a dream fight but it would make the most sense for Jones to have a few title defenses before they even look at making that happen to allow him to establish the kind of dominance that Silva and GSP have in their divisions. Pretty sure Silva is getting the Okami fight to erase that loss on his record. He should be able to walk through Okami just wonder if he's going to break out the karate kid front kick.

  11. mma maniac says:

Mikey Okami is a hard guy to put away? It took silva one upkick to put okami away. Eeven though it was illegal but it knocked him out. It just shows you the skills silva has. It ook one kick to put belfort away. Was belfort ever knocked out before that. It took one punch to put forrest and irvin away also

  12. MMA Maniac you can catch me on here to eat my words if Silva puts Okami away with one punch or kick. In the fights that I have seen in the UFC he is not a risk taker, throwing for the fences fighter. He is a distance fighter who can take a punch. Which is why we don't talk about him. He's a decision fighter because he is so cautious.
