UFC News: Ricardo Almeida Returning To The Cage

By CagE | October 18, 2007

According to GracieMag, Ricardo “Cachorrao” Almeida will return to fighting after a three year layoff. The Renzo Gracie black belt has signed a six fight contract with the UFC. Almeida started his career with the UFC back 2001, with a DQ Loss to Matt Lindland. He later fought for Pancrase and PRIDE, winning impressive victories over Ryo Chonan and Nathan Marquardt before retiring in 2004.

Before signing, Almeida looked into five different offers. His first bout should be scheduled for the beginning of 2008. “The final goal of my return was to get to the UFC, so I thought why not go straight there at once,” said Cachorrao to GRACIEMAG.com.
