UFC News: Jon “War Machine” Koppenhaver Gets 3 Years Probation For Assault

The Ultimate Fighter season 6 veteran Jon “War Machine” Koppenhaver was sentenced today to three years probation for pleading guilty to felony assault charges after Koppenhaver assaulted a man outside the North Park fight club in San Diego, CA. Koppenhaver was also ordered to pay $2300 in restitution and server 30 hours of community service.

The judge in the case apparently reduced the felony charge to a mistermeaner after the victim apparently told the judge he didn’t want to jeopardize Koppenhaver’s career with the UFC. A felony charge would have made his UFC contract Null and Void.

War Machine is rumored to be fighting at UFC 84 in May, to an unknown opponent.

  1. You guys REALLY need an editor! "Mistermeaner"???

  2. Ooh-rah Jon! I'm glad the charges were reduced. Funny how at the victims discretion the law can be altered.

  3. I think he should have been charged when he dropped that upper-decker in the show.

  4. haha. fighters like this make mma just look bad. but his upper decker prank was funny though…

  5. i hope he is smart enough to stay away form that kind of trouble again and does his fighting in the ring(cage)

  6. war machine is an ass clown. dana should kick him out.

  7. I don't think Jon was ever directly linked as the one that put the drunk to sleep. I don't think he was bad on that show, aside from the emotional problems. His performance on the TUF Finale really showed that they guy has heart.

  8. that was a hell of a fight with jared

i loved his l;ast fight im glad he still is in the ufc… nobody was there so who are we to judge. i have been in fights that werent legal u know sometimes people are assholes and need to be put in their place. im not sayign what he did was right im just saying who knows what the circumstances were… if the victim even wanted the punishment to be lightened he must have known he conrtibuted to the altercation. i just hope he stays outta trouble and does well in the ufc. i didnt like him on the show but when he droped tommy speer and his fight with jroc has made him grow on me he has a lot of heart

  10. he got off pretty easy cause they could hvae said he was a deadly weapon…but i cant wait to see him fight again and i also want to see jROCK Fight again

  11. Yeah, I didn't know that to think of this f'er when he was begging for the easy fights in the show. But his proved himself in the show and in the finale so I hope he has a good career. He got off easy so lets see what he does with that.

  12. i want to see the rematch with JRock. that fight was great to watch and both of those guys are good fighters. i still dont know the whole story with this because some posts say he beat up some guy unconscious and others say that he wasnt involved.

Because if we don't get to see you fight in the UFC again. We might just lose our minds go APE SHIT and start protesting!!! Well keep good head about it. Because you ARE the FREAKIN "WAR MACHINE". You keep fightin and so will we. ONE LOVE!

  15. Michael Buck says:

So isn't this kid Jon the same guy that put his stepfather in the hospital? I was within earshot the night that his dear old stepdad went to the hospital with 50 stiches and permanent brain damage. I'm not judging but this kid has some serious issues that need to be resolved before he kills someone.

Cheers from Gonzales ave Simi Valley, CA.

  16. he has gay rage,he was at a gay club when the assault happened,he is going to have to except he is a flamming homo, untill then he will strick out like a school girl bitch.
