UFC News: BJ Penn Will Only Fight An Innocent Sherk

By CagE | November 5, 2007

Bj Penn

According to a recent interview with BJ Penn by the Honolulu Advertiser:

BJ Penn on Joe Stevenson

“Stevenson is good all-around,” Penn said. “He’ll come in shape, so I have to be at my best. I’m expecting a good fight.”

“He deserves a shot,” Penn said. “I have nothing bad to say about the guy.”

BJ Penn on the Sherk Controversy:

“I was told four different times that it was going to be on with Sherk, and it got pushed back every time,” Penn said. “I’m just happy they set something else up. I was getting tired of waiting.”

“If he did win the belt by cheating, that’s ridiculous,” Penn said. “But he’s the one who has to live with it.”

“Just like bodybuilding,” Penn said. “If guys are cheating, maybe there should be two divisions.”

Penn said he would still like to fight Sherk, but only if Sherk is cleared of the steroids charge.

Glad someones saying something about not willing to fight a cheater. He shouldn’t either. If Sherk loses he not only should lose the best, but he should have to work his way back up the ladder again.

Just a sidenote about betting. For the last UFC I clicked on the betUS tab from this site and bet for Tim Sylvia. I won 260 and tried collecting but its been three weeks already. I checked on other forums and they all have their horror stories from these guys. So if your betting, try the Bodog link I hear they payout quick and I’m going to use them from now on.

yeah BoDog is reliable with betting. And with the steroids thing, I really hope these MMA guys dont get get tempted by the juice. It has ruined baseball, track & field, cycling, and recently, boxing. Guys need to train like Rampage or Dan Henderson. Or be born with phenomenol physical traits like Matt Hughes. Or good looks like me.

I took Androstedione in high school. I didn’t know what it was, it was new and when I went to buy my protein at GNC, the lady told me it would help my performance. Man, it is not even the big stuff but it gave me an unfair pump. I got off of it right away because it had some bad side effects like anger and I was peeing every 5 seconds.

It is a cheat for sure and I hope they find a way to bust these guys who cant hack it.

Penn is right, cheaters dont deserve a championship. As a fighter it is always an issue. Does my opponent get tested or does he cycle off of the juice before he is tested. I hate cheaters, it takes away from hard workers and talented fighters. I think Sherk is a roider…I think he should be stripped of the title and sent back to square one.
