UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar Up Walking, Outlook Positive

mma_lesnar_brock

UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnars trainer Greg Nelson on the state of his recovery,

Yeah, he’s walking around and moving around. He’s not ready to jump into that cage, that’s for sure at this point. But he’s got his new baby, so it’s time for him to hang out with his son and his daughter … We’re not really pushing it right now. We’re just letting things take their course so he can be 100-percent healthy when he starts to train. He’ll probably start lifting weights to get his strength built up and do the exercise bike when he starts to get going, and shadowbox when he gets to feel better. But right now, he’s just taking the time to properly heal. [MMAWeekly]

Brock Lesnar fell ill to a severe case of diverticulitis which forced him out of his UFC 106 fight with Shane Carwin and questioned his future viability as a fighter.

Comments

  1. Glad to hear he is recovering.GOD SPEED BROCK LESNAR!

  2. glad to hear he is recovering!! hope to see him in the ring crushing fedor

  3. This is some good news the earliest we will see him fight is March 2010 if possible, if not that than most likely July. He has probably lost some size and strength due to the bacteria infection i heard upwards of 30lbs but who knows, he needs to just relax now and take as much time as needed to fully recover before he starts training. The worst thing he could do is come back to soon and than he is back at square one. Keep in mind he still has to get cleared again by the Commision to fight. There is still a long way to go for him to recover and i dont know if how he will come back and at what status but if its the same as when he left or more than watch out he will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

  4. everybody was saying that Nog had a staf infection when he fought mir. How in the hell did nog get cleared in the first place to fight mir anyway. Bullshit! If nog was only 50% like everyone said why did they clear him??

  5. Strip the belt from him and lets get on wid the Heavyweight world, Brock is a great fighter, but lets face it the world cant stop for him and neither can MMA. It will probaly take him about a year to recover. Dont hate on NOG, Jay maybe we will see a rematch between the two of them. Then you will see

  6. I agree with you John lets move on , Brock will be back, but he will probaly loose his next couple of fights and blame it on his health and probaly quit . Go ahead and talk shit about me but it will be funny when it happens and I will say I told you so. Brock aint shit!

  7. I agree it will take about a year and more to recover word is he will begin training withing 6months so that puts him at the earliest a July fight, but more likely a Oct or later on fight next year.

Brock wont fight until he is 100% as he is a true athlete so dont be so eager to begin his downfall when it hasnt even begun yet. If it turns out he cant fight anymore which it doesnt sound like it but he may not get cleared to fight than he had one hell of a run and he whether you like it or not brought a new insight and fan base to MMA.

By the way the doctors say brock was dealing with this illness for over a year and yet he dominated his opponents during that time and he was only 60% of his potential they said, so if he gets over this and gets back to 100% just imagine the carnage he can impose.
