UFC Fighter Drowns in Arizona

Gilbert AldanaAccording to the UFC, Gilbert Aldana drowed in Lake Pleasant, Arizona over the weekend. Aldana jumped into the cold, choppy lake to retrieve his T-shirt without a life jacket. A massive search for the body was conducted, but their was no sign of the body as of Sunday. Lake Pleasant is around 150ft deep at the location of the accident.

“Gilbert Aldana was a real fighter and he always gave 100% in every bout he was in,” said UFC President Dana White. “He will be sorely missed by everyone in the mixed martial arts community and the thoughts and prayers of our organization are with his family and friends.”..UFC

Aldana had two exiting UFC fights with Paul Buentello and Cheick Kongo. He was 29 and left behind a wife and two kids.
