I assume that the date is supposed to be January 31, 2009. Is the fight going to be a the Mandalay Bay?

    gsp all the way

  5. Ryan S Says:

I like them both and it’s going to be great. GSP will probably definately have the cardio and probably reach over BJ, but BJ can do some pretty amazing things with his body on the ground. I don’t know, I’m gonna say BJ on this one.

  6. Schmac Says:
    September 2nd, 2008 at 7:48 pm

Penn won’t be able to keep pace with the ridiculous stamina GSP showed against Fitch. Penn is skilled enough that it’ll go to decision.

  7. rib Says:

bj left gsp lookn pretty beat up in their last fight ill go with penn knockout 2nd round

  8. Ike Says:

ST.PIERRE IS IN HIS PRIME AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO KEEP HIS BELT. BJ PENN IS AWESOME BUT MOVING UP AND MAINTAINING HIS WEIGHT AGAINST GSP’S CARDIO. GSP IS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER ON THE GROUND. KOSHCHEK AND FITCH ARE GOOD WRESTLERS AND GSP BEAT THEM AT THERE OWN GAME. GSP ALL THE WAY.

  9. redeye Says:

GSP GSP GSP has not reached his peak. think about it,he is a fighting machine.

GSP has the advantage cardio wise and he is very very athletic. he turned into one of the greatest wrestlers in mma. BJ has the most flexible legs and has the advantage jujitsu wise. Gsp has upper hand.

  12. YC Says:
    September 16th, 2008 at 11:38 pm

BJ is going around trying to avenge his loss’s, LOL he’s probably gonna wanna jump into LHW again to face Machida, hahaha. But anyways the fight between him and GSP should be a quick one, i think GSP has improved is MMA game dramatically since their last fight, as did Penn to but GSP has turned into a world class fighter, so iono if Penn can keep up with GSP now. It should be a really good fight thou, we all know Penn is gonna come out mean and crazy as hell in the fight.

  13. zalbag Says:
    September 20th, 2008 at 3:57 pm

Bj vs GSP prolly the best matchup of two quality fighters we will see in awhile unless…. GSP wants to really become in the conversation for best fighter ever He could go up to face A. silva that would be the best possible fight imaginable

  14. Brani Says:
    September 25th, 2008 at 3:57 am

BJ will do anything at this point to remain in the top ranking. Submission will be how GSP will be defeated.

  15. berkshire brawler Says:
    September 26th, 2008 at 2:09 pm

BJ is gonna have a tough fight but he will win by submission in the 2nd or 3rd. GSP doesnt have what it takes to beat BJ now.he can go 5 rounds and he cant be KO’d. cmon…really…hes hawaiian

  16. Kash Says:
    September 26th, 2008 at 2:10 pm

As long as Penn comes in shape for a 5 round fight then I think he’ll win.

  17. CagE Says:

I think that rua will beat coleman he only beat rua last time becuase he broke his arm but this time will be a different story. Dan Henderson beats rich franklin TKO and Matt Hughes will beat Matt Serra by TKO also I think.

  20. rustabusta Says:
    October 2nd, 2008 at 7:02 am

who is headlining ufc 93….henderson vs franklin which is promoted on ufc.com, or is it gsp vs penn?

  21. CagE Says:

penn vs. GSP moved to UFC 94

  22. ted Says:
    October 3rd, 2008 at 1:21 am

the thing is..everyone is talkin like BJ is the same fighter he was last time he and GSP fought. Yeah GSP has greatly improved…but BJ is not at all the fighter he was back then. Keep in mine BJ was mentally broken and pretty much not motivated after the draw with Uno. He came back pretty outta shape and beat Hughes. Quit and went up to 185 Rodrigo Gracie (won) moved up to 205 to fight MAchida (lost decision) went back to 185 and beat Renzo Gracie. Then he had to cut weight to make 170 for GSP. Needless to say he wasn’t in the best shape and he still laid a beating on GSP. BJ is a reborn BJ..in shape, motivated…as much improved as GSP is…BJ was already that good back then and now he’s focused. This one isn’t gonna be so easy to call people. I’m hoping BJ by RNC. But I’m thinkin it’s gonna be a toss up ifit goes decision…I thnk it will…GSP split D.

  23. erik Says:
    October 3rd, 2008 at 10:37 am

i agree ted…GSP is alot faster than bj thou and his takedown are better but these guys are most likely goin to bang….lets be honest will GSP really want to go to the ground with B.J. Penn?

  24. Ryan S Says:
    October 3rd, 2008 at 11:00 am

I don’t think Bj will want to say on the feet with GSP, so who knows where this fight will be.

  25. Zalbag84 Says:
    October 3rd, 2008 at 11:42 am

Bj was unmotivated and out of shape and he faced a gsp that was almost at his peak and he looked great.(first fight) GSP has improved greatly in skills and BJ has improved greatly in conditioning. in the first fight GSP did take the fight to the ground. I guess three questions from this rawhile back. 3. whoever loses is def going to want a rematch is this the new best UFC rivalry of our time? like Ortiz Liddel, or Liddel couture, or even better?

  26. Zalbag84 Says:
    October 3rd, 2008 at 11:44 am

    1. would bj get both belts if he wins and defend both or is this a catch fight like gracie hughes 2. have two current title holders in the ufc ever fought each other ? If so why not GSP vs Silva or Forrest Vs Silva?

  27. roro Says:
    October 5th, 2008 at 12:15 am

St. Pierre vs Penn – If it goes the distant St. Pierre will win if it doesn’t St Pierre will smother Bj in punches standing or elbows on the mat. I think that goes for anyone in the ww division. He is too fast and too well rounded. St. Pierre vs Silva would be interesting but more than likely end in a KO win for Silva. St. Pierre would have to control Silva for a decision. Silva will move up to lh and knock Chuck out. Chuck will consider retirement… if he is sensible enough.

  28. Ike Says:
    October 10th, 2008 at 11:57 am

RORO COULDN’T AGREE WITH YOU MORE

  29. ELBOWZ Says:
    October 10th, 2008 at 12:13 pm

BJ is a great fighter, but GSP is in a class of his own.
BJ just might get manhandled!! if the fight goes to the ground i got to give BJ a little bit of an edge, but GSP’s wrestling and BJJ has improved greatly, just look at his dominence over top level wrestlers and BJJ practitioners.

what weight class would henderson and franklin fight 205 or 185 but anyways that is gonna be a sick fight with hendo out on top

  32. mmafanatic Says:
    October 19th, 2008 at 8:55 pm

I think BJ will take this fight if it happens in January. Probably in the 3rd round by TKO/Submission. GSP had 4 fights in 2008 and he says he’s tired. If GSP takes this fight in Jan., I think BJ will take him. He’s just so damn good and really hungry. It seems like GSP needs some rest…..he deserves it.

  33. dane drebin Says:
    October 19th, 2008 at 9:45 pm

alls i know is it better be a 5 round fight for the belt cuz their last 3 round war left a lot to the imagination

  34. TIM Says:
    October 29th, 2008 at 11:35 am

    This card should be entertaining.

  35. zalbag Says:
    October 29th, 2008 at 12:14 pm

They should make a catch weight fight for silva at ufc 91 and if he wants to put his money where his mout is then he could fight for free to pay every one back who bought ufc 90 and was dissapointed.

  37. Ike Says:
    November 10th, 2008 at 9:59 am

LYTLE VS. DAVIS WILL BE A PUNCH THROWING WAR. I HOPE ” LIGHTS OUT” DOES EXACTLY WHAT HIS NAME IS. PUT DAVIS’S ” LIGHT OUT.” HENDO SHOULD COME OUT ON TOP. FRANKLIN IS AWESOME BUT HENDO IS A LITTLE STRONGER.

  38. tom Says:
    November 10th, 2008 at 10:05 am

i dont think hendo will be stronger then rich..but yea daves vs chris will be a stand up war

  39. tom Says:
    November 10th, 2008 at 10:07 am

i do think hendo has beat better guys then rich has

  40. Ike Says:
    November 11th, 2008 at 9:52 am

HENDO JUST HAS FOUGHT BETTER FIGHTERS AND HAS CAME OUT ON TOP, EITHER WAY BOTH ARE GREAT FIGHTERS. DOESN’T MATTER WHO WINS I LIKE THEM BOTH

  41. Jason Says:
    November 11th, 2008 at 3:39 pm

I used to be a bj penn fan. until he appeared on T.U.F show. and showed his complete lack of character and humility. It was disappointing. Like having a big beautiful cake. and discovering its made out of shit. I hope G.S.P knocks that silver spoon fed asshole out. in the first round. St.pierre is a classy guy and someone kids can look up to. Penn is NOT !!!!! I pray this will be a first in a series of losses. that will fade him out of the ufc.

  42. zalbag Says:
    November 11th, 2008 at 3:45 pm

Im still taking Rich Franklin He finishes fights better than almost anyone in the business. If you take the amount of fights hes won 24 only 21 have gone to decision. He can submit people or knock them out. This fight though is one of the most evenly matched of 07 or 08 so far.

  43. dc Says:
    November 12th, 2008 at 3:44 pm

first off I think its cool that Dana white gave lytle n Davis the fight they wanted n Dublin. I think franklin & Henderson is going to b a brawl I asume it will be at the LH division since franklins move up… I like both guys but think Henderson will cone out on top I give Henderson TKO/ submission in the late second early third… But would love to see it go decision just to see them scrap it out the whole time!! Can’t wait! Me & a co-worker been talking about this fight 4 weeks!!!

  44. zalbag Says:
    November 12th, 2008 at 4:13 pm

what i meant to say in comment 42 was that out of the 24 fights he has won 21 were via knockout or submission.

  45. thatiswhytheyfight Says:
    November 14th, 2008 at 9:21 pm

there are two things i have not seen mentioned on any post 1. BJ took the hughes fight where he gassed on short notice, when GSP was hurt… and has not gassed since AND WILL NOT GAS IN THIS FIGHT and 2. GSP has improved greatly since the first fight with Penn, did you see him manhandle (yes an aging, but still amazing) Hughes…

whoever says BJ gets knocked out is crazy, has never (and probably) will never happen, now that being said, i don’t think BJ can knock out GSP either, it will come down to who makes a mistake first and i honestly believe BJ is mentally tougher and wants this fight more!

i love both fighters and know it will be a great fight cause with such great overall MMA fighters like these two, anything can happen It wil come down to technique and i believe GSP makes a mistake and gives up his back somehow and BJ by rear naked choke!!!

    can’t wait to see though

  46. Zulu Says:
    November 24th, 2008 at 8:27 am

Everyone forgets how f@#king tough BJ is he went to a decision against Lyoto Machida giving away 20kg and about 5″ in height! GSP would never take that fight! As for GSP beating him through superior conditioning just look back to BJ’s fight against Sherk who is a conditioning monster, sherk gassed before BJ.

  47. sy Says:
    November 28th, 2008 at 5:48 am

rich v dan will be a great stand up fight but im going with franklin by unanimous decision cant see anyone getting ko and dont see this fight going to the ground for a submission

  48. Ryan S Says:
    November 28th, 2008 at 7:26 am

These next two fight card coming up look really great. I agree Sy, I think Franklin will take this win. Henderson is a great fighter, but Franklin is too, I don’t care what anyone says. It will be a great fight though. I also say Marcus Davis, and I can’t decide between Coleman and Shogun

  49. JD-BJJBB Says:
    November 28th, 2008 at 7:33 am

I wish I knew you sy, I’d bet Dan easily takes Franklin out. Well, not easily, but Hendo will finish him for sure. Don’t forget Dan is a wrestling god and could probably take Rich down at will. But we’ll see…This is gonna be an awesome card to watch. Rampage/Axe Murderer 3 will be a war. And Zulu, I so agree w/you. BJ is just in another class than most mma fighters. That fight/card will be awesome also. I’d have to say imo BJ is in that elite class of fighter(pound for pound best) with Anderson Silva,Fedor, and a couple others. I put bj in that class now that he’s learned to make cardio his top priority in training.

  50. Ike Says:

YOU CAN’T MAKE EXCUSES FOR ANY FIGHTERS LOSS. IF YOU LOSE!! YOU LOSE!!! THAT GOES FOR ANY WEIGHT CLASS. YOU TRAIN FOR YOUR FIGHT AND THE FIGHTER YOU ARE FIGHTING. WE CAN SPECULATE ON THE FIGHTS BUT THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS THAT ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN

  53. JD-BBBJJ Says:
    December 16th, 2008 at 7:12 am

whoever said now GSP has turned into a world class fighter, I do agree. But BJ has been world class for 10 years. His only downfall has been cardio, but he goes all over the place in weightclass to find people who can challenge him. That can be tough on the body, I know this first hand. This will be such a great fight, I can’t wait. I would really love to see it be a long battle, like atlest 4 rounds to really see their true skillset. This will probably be the best fight in a while(maybe of all time) if it lasts that long. I am betting on BJ, but gl to GSP, he’s also a world class person, and a blessing to the sport. Wish I could be at this one to see it.
