look what cote said..

It's gonna take him 10 straight punches to take me down - I only need one punch to take him down. I'm Patrick Cote, I win against grapplers and I knock strikers out.

yea right cote..anderson will be knocking you out

Elbowz failed to mention anything about more then a couple interesting match ups for Silva at 205. Wand who has trained with him in the past, Shogun who has trained with him and Sokoudjou who is a training partner of Hendo at Team Quest. These are all possible fights with A. Silva. I dont really see him fighting Rashad since rashad is lined up to get KO'd by Chuck at UFC 88. but if he does beat chuck by miracle then yeah he could fight A. Silva. But I would love to see him fight the Axemurderer.

thiago silva is a pretty big 205'er i dont know if he could make 185 but if he could that would be an interesting match but i still think anderson would destroy him.

Filho is friends with Silva thats why he went to the WEC instead of the UFC. You'll probably never see Filho fight Silva.

Roy makes some good points. Current UFC fighters int he division don't stand a chance against him...maybe Hendo or Nate could hang with him for a round or two, but eventually, they would get squashed before Round 3. They have to bring in someone from the outside. If Paulo wins his WEC title defense, he should come up to the UFC. He may be a good fight for Silva. Lindland looked terrible this past weekend. Belfort is too inconsistent. Cung Lee and Lawlor would get demolished. They both take too many shots. If they did this against Da Spider, they would be sleeping before they knew what hit them. Rousimar and Maia may have a shot in the future but they need to improve their stand up game. They are masters at BJJ and could submit Silva if it got to the ground but unless they improve their standup, they would get knocked silly before it got there. I think some of the 205 guys should consider coming down to 185 or some of the bigger 170 guys should come up. Ninja or Thiago Silva should come down and Thiago Alves or Kos should come up. I would rather see one of these guys try than Rich Franklin, Okami, Cote, etc. Okami would be lucky to last 30 seconds and having Rich vs Silva III will be worse than Ortiz vs. Shamrock III. The UFC has toi do something to stop him from getting bored. He is as dominant as Jordan and Tiger.

I don't see cote winning either. The funny thing is, I think Silva has every tool to do the same thing to the light heavy weight division that he did to the middleweight. As long as he uses them correctly. His striking is too precise and his defense is too melodic. Not to mention, he can handle himself just fine on the ground. I thought Lutter had him. I think that would be an interesting rematch.

i agree with dane that cote is as ready as he will ever be. i think he might last longer than most against silva but i don't really expect cote to win.

205lbs fight for Silva in the future:
Chuck
Rampage
Forrest
Rashad
185lbs fights for Silva:
Bisping
Dan (rematch)
Okami
Cote
Rousimar Palhares.

Not in any particular order. But he says he wants to fight 4 times a year . he can accomplish this in 24 months.
That's if a couple of good fighters don't come out of the dark!! Just my predictions.
