UFC 85: Nate Marquardt vs. Thales Leites

By CagE | March 12, 2008

marquardt vs. leites

According to GracieMag, Thales Leites will take on Nate Marquardt at UFC 85, June 7 from the O2 Arena in London, England.

The two were scheduled to meet at UFC 81, but Leites was forced to dropout after suffering a hand injury while training for the fight. MMA veteran Jeremy Horn replaced Leites with only a few days notice, but was quickly submitted by Marquardt with a sick guillotine choke early in the second round.

Here’s what Leites told the mag:

“After waiting for so long, he has been really well studied. I had already seen two of his fights before, I know he’s dangerous, experienced and really aggressive…He knows how to fight standing and on the ground, he’s a tough guy to take down and has a good guillotine.”

Leites better not get hurt again because I want to see this too. I think Nate takes this if he can keep it standing most of the time.

Nate Marquardt will take this one. He really has improved since losing to Silva. He looked superb in his fight with Jeremy Horn. I was really hoping Horn would of won that fight to. Marquardt has and will continue to prove he is one of the best middleweights in the world and I would say he is in the top 3 in the UFC.
