After the first go around, headliner Thiago Alves* weighed in four pounds over weight. Matt Hughes has agreed to fight Alvas at the catch weight of 174 lbs.

    he couldnt make weight what a job its him time to shine and he didnt make weight

    i’m not surprised alves couldn’t cut the weight. he got caught with a diuretic some time ago, and after watching ufc unleashed that was about him, alves probably went out to party/drink too much. he won’t steamroll through hughes like his camp claims. hughes may be cocky, cautious, and old, but he has been the most dominant WW in UFC’s history.

    yeah, i guess he does need that diuretic to make weight. that wasnt even close, 3 pounds over. to tell you the truth i hate the whole weight cutting thing. let them weigh in just hours before the fight. if they still want to cut weight when they fight in hours then let them.

    I really hope that Hughes does well in this fight. I don’t really like his personality but he used to be pretty fun to watch.

    yeah for opnce i will be rooting for hughes because i really dont like alves for some reason he just rubs me the wrong way
