By CagE | May 22, 2008
The Ultimate Fighting Championships announced today that Mark Coleman (15-8) will not fight Brock Lesnar (1-1) at UFC 87, due to an knee injury he suffered in training. A replacement has not been named, but one is expected soon.
Also announced, UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre (16-2) will take on former Purdue wrestling team captain, Jon Fitch (16-2) in the main event on August 9 from the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN.
GSP:
“He’s a very, very tough guy….I’m going to have to train hard and be very well prepared because he may be my toughest fight yet.”

Dang dang dang!
I was looking forward to seeing Lesnar-Coleman. Probably because I think it would be an interesting match up, a little bit of a freak show and I’ve watched/liked Coleman from the old days of UFC and Pride.
I wonder who there going to put in there with Lesnar now.
Hmm…

that might be good for lesnar, i don’t think beating coleman at this stage would have said alot other than getting him a win, and if he would have lost it would have looked pretty bad for him.
