Lutter had the armbar with his right leg trapping the arm, it was tucked under his left knee. Since that right leg was not outstretched over Franklins chest it made it a little easier for Franklin to roll out.

i think lutter was banking on his BJJ too much. he was really hoping on submitting franklin in round 1 and if he couldn't do it by then, he knew he would not win. but that was some sick ass move when franklin slipped out of the armbar. how could lutter not finish that? it was pretty much done.

I agree KOPower,

no main card fighter should ever gas, especially in a three round fight.

Lutter should never have been allowed back after his failure to make weight. He is just an embarrassment to the organization.

Agreed on letting both Starnes and Lutter go. There are plenty more talented fighters who actually want to fight available.

Its pathetic for a pro fighter to gas in one round. Lutter should join Starnes and say goodbye to the UFC.

GSP true champion, pure fighter, great job. He has owned every one of his opponents since his loss to Serra. Beats them all with their own strengths and manages to not get hit too much, and that is what true fighting is all about "to have the ability to hit and also to not be hit" Now begins his reign, the new king of the 170's! Proud to be Canadian. Kalib you have to fight, it wasn't a track event. It is better to fight and get Knocked out than to look like a little B#$*! on the tv sets of millions. His purse for the fight should be withheld and donated to the Candian track team.

franklin pretty much told it straight. it wouldn't be practical for him to fight silva again and that he wouldn't contend at 205 cause he wouldn't make sense.
