    Maia submitted Herman,

For those of you who don’t already know, Maia is the 2007 Abu Dhabi world champion. That pretty much means that he is the best submission artist in the world at his weight and some say he is currently the best submission grappler in the world overall..

    Watch for this guy.

where does ADCC post their previous champions? for 2007, Robert Drysdale was the 2007 ADCC absolute champion and also the LHW champion. he is currently training at xtreme couture. absolute means that robert won 1st place when all of the divisions were mixed together into 1 competition.

    ADCC 2007

    Under 87kg
    - Demian Maia defeated Flavio Cachorrinho by armbar

    Their website: http://www.adcombat.com

Drysdale is a badass, he beat Marcelo Garcia in the finals.

The Absolute is the most prestigious, especial if you are a light weight fighter, but many of the top competitors don’t enter the Absolute Tourney
