it dosn’t seem like a great card but you never know, there is a few fight that i am interested in of course gsp vs serra thats a given rich vs travis should be a good one quarry vs starnes.there a bunch a tuf fighters on this card take away the serra gsp fight and it looks like a ufn card.

…why isnt shogun fighting on this card like he was suposed to.>.?

Brandon, Shogun is fighting Chuck Liddell in May or June.
Source: Sports Illustrated
Shogun confirmed the fight in June on the Brazilian Newspaper Tatame.

Yeah I knew that but the fight was schedueled for this event

Patrickgamil: ?????………..
February 4th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
this is a pretty good card even without shogun
gsp, serra, bisping, franklin, lutter, herman, danzig, cote, and mcdonald are all big names
February 4th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
…Dane I can honestly say i’m not really excited for any of the fights except GSP/Serra obviously, Nate Quarry/ Starnes..and maybe Bisping, i cant tell if I care enough about his move to middle weight or not
February 4th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
i would say gsp and franklin are big names maybe serra but the rest are tuf fighters if that makes you a big name then i guess so. i think franklin is pretty good but every card that he headlined kinda sucked.
February 4th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
i meant prior to facing silva
February 4th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
Franklin is overated and boring and i don’t like him as a fghter in the slightest…thats why just in my opinion hes not a “big name”
February 5th, 2008 at 3:08 am
you can say u dont like franklin but u have to admit that he is a big name. a big name isnt always about who you have beaten its how well known u are. brok has won one fight and he is allready a big name. lokking at this card again i do admit it is mostly TUFers… sept mcdonald he became known for beating TUFers. im still stoked to see franklin vs lutter tho since lutter was the closest to beat silva and franklins underrated in my oppinion. the onle people he has lost to is anderson and the undefeated 205 pound lyotot machida. he has a very good record of 24-3
February 5th, 2008 at 4:02 am
I think this is an OK card… there are a lot of middleweights fighting… I for one would have preffered to see Bisping’s first fight at MW be against one of the other guys fighting on the same Card…
Nate Quarry
Ed Herman
Patrick Cote
Jason McDonald
Kalib Starnes
Or maybe even Franklin!!
February 5th, 2008 at 5:39 am
I’d love to watch Franklin destroy Bisping.
February 5th, 2008 at 7:07 am
Joe… I think we’ve debated this one before!
You’re probably right, but I think Bisping vs Quarry/Cote/Herman would have been miles better than McCarthy
February 5th, 2008 at 7:26 am
Joe:
some aren’t impressed with the card (I’m impressed with the fighters) – just saying that they aren’t the most famous ones – although:

this is a pretty good card even without shogun
gsp, serra, bisping, franklin, lutter, herman, danzig, cote, and mcdonald are all big names
to which I’d say yes they are all fairly well known – at least in USA
