Comments

  1. Koscheck was screwed with his longterm TUF contract.

    10k a fight?

  2. It's simply pathetic the chump change that Dana White pays his fighters, it's barely enough to live for Leben and guys of that pay check amount…Really gotta start paying em more

  3. Cage, done u agree they fuck their fighters over. They'll let them bleed but wont let most of em get a decent living

  4. Agree, Henderson made more to fight then Silva.

  5. the fact that A-rod makes a little bit MORE than 272 times the amount that 20 fighters make is straight up mind boggling!

  6. Silva should get way more he is the pound for pound fighter… and Hearing sucks and got the same pay as Anderson wtf

  7. Brandon, Arod generates 272 times mor emoney then any of these fighters….but I do agree with you. boxers make money off of gate revenue, until Dana and the Fertitti brothers start giving in more, or some other league does, the fighters will still get paid dick. what other choice do they have?

  8. Stick to clipping coupons and looked for on sale foods haha, thats about the only choice they have. I hate Dana, as smart and determined as he is I hope he crashes his car into an aids tree!!

  9. anderson silva's contract is bogus too. dana openly calls him the best pound for pound fighter but he is getting 70 to show and 70 to win. he needs to up that anty next time he renegotiates.

i wonder what kos feels about diego making three times more than him.

  10. The UFC is screwing their fighters. Get ready for the boxing promoters to steal the UFC's thunder if they do not start paying their fighters. You would have to be on crack to think others promoters are not preparing to step up to the plate and offer some real money. I wonder when the best pound for pound boxer (Mayweather) last fought for 70,000 (140,000).

I think hating on Dana White is not the proper thing to do. He still pays the best, and until someone causes him to raise the bar things will not change. He is a business man, and his objective is to make money. The only reason A-Rod makes the money he does is because their are multiple people who will pay him that outrageous payday. When it gets to that level the fighters will have the same opportunity.

Modern cage fighting is relatively new in comparison to sports where athletes have enormous salaries. It will take time, but it will get there.

  11. Getting Budweiser as a sponsor is a big step for the UFC in being able to pay their fighters better in the future.

  12. Realwun I dont know about that one, Budweiser will only sponsor the exapnsion and advertisement of the UFC i seriously doubt they contribute any money that goes to the payroll…and Shawn i agree with u but i wasnt comparing the wages of baseball and MMA I was simply trying to make the statment that one man makes more money than 20 thats all.

  13. its up to the ufc where they spend the money they get from bud, its either in there pocket or they use it to sign or keep more fighters.

  14. dane drebin says:

i wonder how much the ufc made off of this paperview cus they paid all their fighters combined under a mil and that's rediculous.

everyone should read tito ortiz's new blog on myspace i will post it on here actually hold on

  15. dane drebin says:

eh his profile is undergoing maitenance i will post it tomorrow

  16. Brandon, I'm no accountant but aren't advertisements, marketing, and expansions expenses for a business. Its money that the UFC doesn't have to use so like roy says, its up to the UFC how they utilize that partnership. Yeah, I would love to see the numbers on what the UFC made on that PPV and what they paid out.

  17. grappler says:

UFC fighters may not be getting paid that well but they are getting paid ALOT better then other MMA fighters from PRIDE, EC, K2, ECW, and everyone else.

you also have to remember that these fighters also get alot of $$$ in endorsements and sponcerships.

how is Okami only getting 14,000 when he is most likely the next in line to fight Silva?!

  18. grappler says:

btw some of the more popular fighters like Forrest, Liddel, GSP, Sherk, Penn, Jackson ect. get a certain % cut from the PPV revenues. idk if all fighters have them but im pretty sure that the fan favorites and title fighters have them.

  19. Senator McCains wife owns Budweiser. Her husband Mc Cain banned the SEG owned UFC and now sponsors the Las Vegas Athletic commission owned UFC what a joke. I wonder how much fertita contributed to his campaign. Everyone is getting there payback now.

  20. Ryans right…Check this out.

"McCain's wife, Cindy, is the Hensley in Hensley, the nation's third-largest Anheuser-Busch distributor. Her father, Jim, founded the company 50 years ago, and she became the controlling stockholder of the privately held company upon his death in 2000. Cindy Hensley McCain is chairwoman of Hensley's board of directors." – azcentral.com

    Good find

  21. Kentucky says:

It's the responsibility of the fighters and their agents to negotiate the best deal possible! The company some of Y'All are hating on pay their fighters more in one day than most folk's make in a year! If your base salary is 70 grand a night your making more than most normal folks! With three fights a year they would make over two hundred grand! Not counting bonuses!
