    Whoa!!! Rivera’s back I guess.

  4. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 1:40 pm

Well, Lambert must have tried to cruise on Gouveia. He handled the first round very well.

  5. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 1:42 pm

    Lambert got KTFO

Gouveia landed a huge left hook, Lambert went down head first. Early in the second round.

  6. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 1:48 pm

idk why he was being so tentitive. He looked rather dominant in the 1st.

  7. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 1:54 pm

Just what I expected. Davis destroyed Laudin.

  8. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 1:54 pm

Davis gets the big KO. He keeps impressing me with every fight.

  9. CagE Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:01 pm

Davis is proving hes one of the best welterweights in the UFC. The ufc should trough him a bone and let him fight a named fighter.

Maybe Diego Sanchez or Matt Hughes

  10. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:07 pm

But, do u really think he is ready for sumthing like that? I mean really.

  11. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:08 pm

These British guys look like twins, I cant tell them apart.

    Paul Kelly, Paul Taylor
    Same size
    Same color
    Same receding hair line
    Same First Name

  12. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:12 pm

I think we’ll see an upset for the title.

  13. CagE Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:15 pm

Ok diego and hughes might be a big step from the chumps hes been fighting.

How about Luke Cummo or Josh Burkman after he loses to Swick

  14. CagE Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:16 pm

by upset to you mean Stvenson beats Penn?

  15. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:20 pm

Yeah. You wouldn’t call that an upset?

  16. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:26 pm

Stevenson is under rated in this fight. I think it is all up to Penn and his preparation for this fight.

Stevenson is probably the strongest fighter Penn has faced.

  17. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:26 pm

    Davis vs. Parisyan sounds good.

  18. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:27 pm

You think so? Penn fought Hughes and St. Pierre.

  19. CagE Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:33 pm

mayb I like stevenson but Penn has defeted all types of fighters.

Can you relly see stevenson take Penn down? no chance.

  20. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:35 pm

Actually yeah. Stevenson is prolly the strongest fighter in the Lightweight division other than Sherk. I see it going down and staying down as long as Stevenson wants.

  21. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:54 pm

Looks like Gonzaga has been overrated for a while.

  22. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:55 pm

Gonzaga gased, looked like shit in the second.

  23. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:57 pm

He looked like the slow, tired, lackluster Gonzaga. The way he was before the Cro Cop fight.

  24. CagE Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 2:59 pm

    Gonzaga lossed……….sucks,

I lost money on Gonzaga and Grove

    Penn better win

  25. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:12 pm

For me it was the fact that Werdum looked worse and Gonzaga off his back is one on the worst I’ve seen. He just lays there and covers up. If he could get up in those situations, He may have been the champion.

  26. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:14 pm

But, I gotta say, he may be taking Cro Cops spot with those kicks as the most feared striker in the division.

  27. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:15 pm

Penn is dominating the fight on the grould. Penn looks good.

  28. dane drebin Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:16 pm

fuck that gonzaga isnt the most feared striker… how many people has he knocked out? hmmmmm…. i rest my case

  29. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:16 pm

    blood sport, sick

  30. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:18 pm

Stevenson better finish this fight, they will stop this fight with that cut.

  31. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:22 pm

Alright dane, then who the fuck is?

  32. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:25 pm

Stupid ass most of Liddell’s knockouts where TKO. How many of those does Gonzaga have? hmmmmm?

  33. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:27 pm

ok. So I was wrong. This fight reminded me ALOT of Gonzaga/Couture. Once the cut came, everyone know who was gonna win.

  34. Adrian Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:38 pm

    @Chris

BJ out classed Stevenson, the cut helped finish the fight sooner.

  35. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 3:53 pm

Yeah. I didn’t mean to imply that those fights were dicided by the cuts. The cut on Stevenson just reminded me of it. Personally, I thought they were gonna stop the fight aftert the 1st. Its ok though. Sherk is gonna whoop Penn’s ass neways.

  36. dane drebin Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 4:32 pm

arlovsk, tim sylvia, mirko cro cop has knocked out a lot more people than him, i would say fedor is a better striker…. mark hunt…. i dunno there are a lot of better strikers than gonzaga he’s a 1 hit wonder so far in my book… im sure he will ahve a good career but i think he is highly overated

  37. dane drebin Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 4:39 pm

    oh i forgot brandon vera

  38. dane drebin Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 4:40 pm

and big nog… most of gonzagas wins are by submission

  39. dredlokrasta Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 5:52 pm

I loved all the knockouts so much, I’m watching it again!!

  40. Chris Tinney Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 6:02 pm

Dane, your not taking into account what Gonzaga did before coming to the UFC. He had 3 wins by tko and 1 by submission. And then of course, he had the loss to Werdum.

  41. dane drebin Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

im not taking anything away from gonzaga i think he’s a really good fighter but to be honest i think hes still a little green and ya he beat cro cop but other than that he hasnt done much in this sport yet. he’s not even in double digits in the win column yet i like him a lot and i think he could be champ one day but he has a long way to go before hes considered the best striker in the heavyweight division… thats jsut my oppinion tho and i respect ur oppinion

This post goes out to Brandon, Roy and Joe : I am stepping up like I said I would to the three of you, for all that post on here to see. I was wrong about the Penn / Stevenson fight. My guy, Stevenson lost the fight to Penn because Penn must be a better fighter like Brandon, Roy and Joe told me. I stuck by my guy all the same, and for that, holding true to our bet this will be my last post for 1 week. I will be reading other post through the week and will be ready to go by next Friday. I have enjoyed going back and forth with the three of you, and look forward to more of it in the future. Until Friday….Peace.

I’m glad BJ called out Sherk at the end. After seeing this fight I think BJ will be ready to step up against a stronger opponent. Stevenson was no slouch and is a top class wrestler, still BJ was able to control the ground. BJ is the man and I hope he destroys sherk and holds the choke like he did with Pulver.

i know on paper this fight card sucked but is anyone really that disappointed with this ufc? i mean, the last one we couldnt get any finishes and this one was all about finishing and bad cuts. there were some really crazy ko’s that came out of nowhere.

when is the ufc going to give my man marcus davis a top contender to fight? the guy is on a 11 fight win streak….i mean damn, what does he have to do to get some respect.

  53. derek Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 11:37 pm

Scot, very admirable to keep your word. But in all honesty, why torture yourself by not posting? CageToday comments is so that we can all post our own opinions and say what we want others to hear. In a match up, there will always be people supporting one dude, and other supporting the other dude; it’s our opinions on why we think who will win or who we’re supporting that makes this so interesting.

  54. derek Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 11:39 pm

bj was sporting the chuck lidell belly in this fight. chuck’s belly seems to be the current fad. rampage now also has one… as evidenced by that video put out yesterday.

  55. Morey Says:
    January 19th, 2008 at 11:54 pm

I think BJ was in great shape…I didn’t see the Chuck belly. But yeah, Ramp has gotten soft and he looked chubby as hell is that last video. I don’t blame him, he’s not fighting till who knows when. Might as well live it up.

  56. KOPower Says:
    January 20th, 2008 at 12:18 am

Gonzaga looked like the fighter he was before the CroCop KO. He gassed and was able to be picked apart by Wierdum. He was my disappointment of the night.

My upset of the night was Santiago because I saw the weigh ins and he was ripped and in shape. Kendall took him lightly, thought he could take some hits while he stood up. then got KTFO. That the the KO of the night for me.

Laudin is no chump, he showed the savate fighting style and was quick and powerful with his kicks. Marcus Davis is ready to make that jump to a top contender in the welterweight division. Someone talked about Davis vs. Perisian….hell yeah, that would be a good fight. WTF does Davis have to do to get some notice. 10, or 11 fight win streak, shit, when does he get some respect.

  57. Brandon Says:
    January 20th, 2008 at 9:57 am

No offense derek…but shut up, we made a deal and he has to honor it, which he is. He wilable to post when he comes back and we’ll get his opinions again but for now just let him read this stuff hahahah sorry scot

  58. dane drebin Says:
    January 20th, 2008 at 10:28 am

bj looked great he didnt have a belly at all…

  59. roy Says:
    January 20th, 2008 at 12:58 pm

thanks scott, see ya in a week maybe next bet it will go your way.well it turned out to be a pretty good event alot of knock outs, i was glad to see jorge win and disappointed in gonzaga maybe andre deserves more credit for beating verdum.

  60. dane drebin Says:
    January 20th, 2008 at 2:35 pm

i think arlovski was very smart how he beat werdum i always thought that. he’s had a bit of a rough streak but who was the last person to beat him besides sylvia huh? he’s still pretty dominate and deserves a lot of respect. i hope big nog wins and we get to see arlovski vs nog i think it would be great
