UFC 71: Chuck Liddell vs. Quinton Jackson

By CagE | March 19, 2007

quinton jackson vs chuck liddell
Looks like it is set, Chuck Liddell will get the chance to avenge his loss to Quinton Jackson in Las Vegas for UFC 71. Sherdog.com reporting that Jackson’s manager confirms the fight is now set. The Jackson fight is the only loss Chuck Liddell has never avenged. Jackson’s contract was picked up by the UFC when they bought the troubled WFA. Some critics say that the UFC primarily bought the WFA to acquired Jackson.

In his last fight Jackson stated in the post fight interview that he felt a little rusty and nervous. He thought it would be good to fight one more tune up fight before Liddell, but the UFC had other plans.

Also, Chris Leben confirms he will fight Kalib Starnes at UFC 71. Leben stating on his myspace.com page that while the contract is not signed, he believes that he will be making his UFC comeback against Starnes.

Chuck punches so hard and so accurately and from so many weird angles. Couture controled him, but Jackson beat him up. He has a huge chip on his shoulder ’cause of this, and EVERYTHING to lose…He saw the method to beat Quinton’s style by wathcing the Wanderlei and Shogun fights, and has felt more aggresive and more technical fighters in his battles with Ortiz and Couture. He’s going to dispose of Rampage quickly, and violently.
