UFC 67 Undercard Matches

By CagE | January 30, 2007

ufc 67 undercard
The loss of the St. Pierre/Serra fight was a big blow to the purpose of this event. It was supposed to be the final event for the Ultimate Fighter 4 series, but was left as an event full of Superstar Vs. Steppingstone matchups.

One interesting matchup is Patrick Cote Vs. Scott Smith. I think Smith deserves to be in this televised match after his gutsy and unbelievable knockout of Pete Sell in the TUF 4 Finale. Cote also deserves to show that his performance in that Finale was just a fluke. This could be his last chance to prove he belongs to be at the top of the Middleweight Division. Sell is a fan favorite after his last fight and he can ride that popularity along with a win in this fight to a shot at some big fights and big money.

Another addition is John Halverson Vs. Roger Huerta. Huerta is a young fighter that I’m sure they would like to develop more in the UFC to become a favorite in building the Lightweight Division. He has one win in the UFC over Josh Dent form the Hughes/Penn II card. He’s facing a tough former boxer, John Halverson, in what should be a pretty good match.

A fighter to watch out for is Lyoto Machida. Machida has a perfect 6-0 record with wins over Rich Franklin, Bj Penn, and Spephan Bonnar. Macida will be taking on TUF’s Sam Hogar.
