New Mexico’s own, Greg Jackson talks about preparing Georges St. Pierre for his fight with Thiago Alves at UFC 100.
am i the only person who thinks that Greg Jackson is overrated?
i haven't trained at teams like miletich or att, etc. but i have trained at jacksons and the guy is really like yoda. you get top notch bjj instruction from greg. winklejohn is a master at striking. and after he got popular greg brought in some top talent who specialized in things like judo and muy tai to work with the fighters.
but if you ask me i think his greatest asset is that when he is in your corner he is always under control and calms his fighters. when you enter a fight you physically are as prepared as you're going to get. so what you ask of a trainer is that they get you in the right mindset to do your best work. thats why greg is so highly sought for, he knows how to do that.
his game plans are terrible tho, at least thats the way i find it, or fighters aren't sticking to them.
