TUF 7 Finale: Spencer Fisher vs. Jeremy Stephens

By CagE | April 15, 2008

According to MMAJunkie, UFC lightweights Spencer Fisher (20-4) will take on Jeremy Stephens (13-2) at the finale of “The Ultimate Fighter” 7 reality show.

MMA veteran, Spencer Fisher, is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Frankie Edgar at UFC 78. Prior to that fight, Fisher avenged a prior loss to Sam Stout with a unanimous decision victory over the Canadian Fighter at UFC Fight Night 10.

Stephens is coming off a second round TKO victory over TUF 5 alum Cole Miller at UFC Fight Night 12 in January.

The lightweights agreed to the fight over the weekend, and bout agreements are expected to be signed shortly.

Fisher is a former roommate and best friend of stand-out Josh Neer, whom Stephens lists as his mentor. However, according to Stephens, a brief phone call with Fisher was all it took for the two fighters to hammer out an agreement that the fight would be strictly business and nothing personal.

Huge fan of both. I sponsor Jeremy so my loyalties are definitely with him. I think it will be a great fight. Lil Heathen has so much upside with his youth he is in a no lose situation here. Met Spencer through Josh Neer; who I also sponsor, in Vegas a couple years ago and he is a hell of a guy and a great fighter. I like Jeremy with a split decision winning the last two rounds.
