Thiago Alves Out of UFC 107 Fight With Jon Fitch
By CagE | October 30, 2009
American Top Teams Thiago Alves is forced to pull out from his UFC 107 welterweight contender fight with Jon Fitch after suffering a knee injury.
Alves recently suffered a torn posterior cruciate ligament. It is unknown at this time how long he will be out of action.[Fanhouse]
This is the second fighter to drop out of a fight with Fitch due to injury. Ricardo Almeida was originally scheduled to take on Jon Fitch at UFC 106, but suffered a serious knee injury.
It is uncertain if the UFC will find a replacement for Fitch or just drop him from the card.

I hope Matt Hughes accepts AKA’s challenge and steps up for this. If Matt had any serious intentions of a title run with his new contract, he would realise this is his chance to make a huge jump back in to contention.
Fitch needs to be fighting often to establish himself as no1 contender again. If he gets scrapped from the card it will be a while before he will be able to get another shot at GSP (or if by some miracle Hardy or Swick manage to figure that guy out).

Good I dont want to see Fitch ever fight honestly. I hope he retires sooner than later. He is soooo boring. He is still a wrestler and is one of the most boring fighter in mma. I think the worst fight you could ever watch would be Fitch vs Jake Shields. They would both probally look 100% after the fight. Laying on a guy shouldnt get you the win. If you do no damage then you realy shouldnt gt the win. Unless your opponent was running away from you the whole time which is not the case ever with those two.

Fitch shouldn’t be punished for others dropping out. It’s not his fault no one can fight in time. Just at least grab a scrub who’ll get in there and bang no matter what. At least Fitch will get a pay day and some sponsorship money.

Damn, I like Fitch. He does have a lot of decision wins but the Paulo Thiago fight was a pretty entertaining ground fight.
