Are You Ready for UFC 157?

Are you ready to watch UFC 157? What makes this event undeniably mouth-watering is that it is the much-awaited match-up between the undefeated champion Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey and Liz “Girl-rilla” Carmouche. These pretty fighters are the first women match-up under the UFC tent to grace your television screens; this will also prove once and for all if Rousey is able to hold her grace, poise and skill as one of the most incredible women MMA fighter of all time.

Rousey enjoys a sensational 6 wins and 0 loss professional MMA career. She has been stopping impressive women fighters like Ediane Gomes, Charmaine Tweet, Sarah D’Alelio, Julia Budd, Meisha Tate and most recently Sarah Kaufman. With her signature armbar move she was able to submit all of these ladies in just the first round of the match. The fastest move that she has ever made was an armbar submission move that ended the game in just 25 seconds of round 1; this was a match against D’Aleilo at Strikeforce in 2011. Rousey’s celebrated victory over Sarah Kaufman on the other hand was a well-publicized event; this was in August 2012 at Strikeforce when Rousey leashed out her armbar technique ending the match in just 54 seconds of the first round.

But let us not underestimate her opponent Liz Carmouche who has a splendid record of 8 wins and 2 losses. This determined fighter is from San Diego, California and has been a terrible threat to Rousey since the beginning. Her last win was against Kaitlin Young at Invicta FC 2 – Bazler versus McMann in July 2012 via submission with a horrifying rear-naked choke. The match ended in just 3 minutes and 34 seconds of the second round. Carmouche has been a formidable fighter and has seen the defeat of famous fighters like Ashleigh Curry, Jan Finney, Valentine Shevchenko and Colleen Schneider to name a few. Her last loss was to Sarah Kaufman at Strikeforce Challengers 17 in July 2011 after she was TKO out of the match in less than 2 minutes of the first round.
