Strikefroce MMA has announced a women’s MMA fight between Randy Couture’s wife Kim Couture (0-1) and Lina Kvokov on its Strikeforce “Destruction” card set for Nov. 21 from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.

This will be Kim Couture’s second professional MMA fight after badly losing her debut fight to Kim Rose by unanimous decision back in June. In that fight Couture suffered a broken jaw and broken nose but, managed to survive through all three rounds.

“Losing that fight was the best thing that ever happened to me … It’s completely changed me as a fighter. I’ve started doing things a lot different. It made me realize that I have to be the aggressor or I’m going to get hurt.”

“I plan to show how well-rounded I am in this fight, … I’m going to be more aggressive and more explosive. There’s not anywhere the fight can go that I won’t be prepared because I feel like I’ve got the toughest camp and the best coaches.”

I’m hoping this is just the start for women’s MMA on Strikeforce. Their are a lot of talented female fighters out their, just waiting to be picked up by a MMA promotion, especially after the fall of EliteXC.

Headlining event, is Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh “The Punk” Thomson (16-2) taking on Yves Edwards (34-14-1) for the Strikeforce lightweight belt.

Plus, Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion, Bobby Southworth (9-5) will be putting his title on the line against UFC veteran Renato “Babalu” Sobral (30-7).

Also, Joe “Diesel” Riggs (28-11) will return after having back surgery to take on Luke Stewart (6-1) in a welterweight bout.
