Ah… reminds me of the good old days of PRIDE.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin Randleman (17-12) will make his Strikeforce debut against Mike Whitehead (23-6) at Strikeforce “Lawler vs. Shields†on June 6 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, according to Sherdog.
Randleman has only competed once since his 2006 loss to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at PRIDE 32. Riddled with health issues, steroid allegations and a DUI, Kevin Randleman will look to get back to fighting after a long stint of in activeness. Randleman recently tied the knot to longtime girlfirend Elizabeth at Lake Las Vegas.
TUF 2 cast member Mike Whitehead is coming off a submission win over Leo Pla at M-1 Challenge 8th Edition. Winning 14 of his last 15 fights, Whitehead will be looking to impress in his Strikeforce debut on June 6.
Less then a week after Renato “Babalu” Sobral bowed out of his title fight with Rafael Feijao on June 6th’s Strikeforce “Lawler vs Diaz” card, news comes that Kevin Randleman has also turned down the fight with Anderson Silva training partner.
FanHouse has learned that the newest member of Strikeforce’s light heavyweight division, Kevin Randleman (17-12), was offered to replace Sobral against Cavalcante, but the former UFC heavyweight champion turned down the fight. No specific reason was given. [AOL Fanhouse]
“Now that I’m here, understand this – it comes from the heart …. I’ll fight anybody, anywhere. When Scott (Coker) says it’s time to get down and dirty, understand this: I’m not coming to lose, and I’m not coming to back up.”
Not surprising, Fiejao is a beast at 205 and will certainly give anyone in the world a run for their money.
