UFC on Fox 6: Demetrious Johnson vs John Dodson, and Rampage Jackson vs. Teixeira

On January 26, 2013 the UFC on Fox showcases its sixth event.

Headlining the event which will be held at the United Center in Chicago, will be Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson who will be putting his belt on the line against up and coming John Dodson.

While Johnson is more of a technical striker, Dodson possesses knockout power which can quickly turn the tide. Also on the card is the return of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson who will be facing off against a dangerous Glover Teixeira.

The majority of MMA fans would probably agree that Rampage Jackson is on the decline. Besides being a disgruntled fighter with the UFC, his last few fights have not been impressive, and compared to the current evolved MMA fighters of today he is very one dimensional. In addition, he will be going up against a very well rounded Teixeira, who has been on a tear finishing his opponents by several methods.

This is the last fight that Jackson has under contract with the UFC, and many suspect it will be his last. The UFC’s lightweight class is arguably the most stacked class in the organization. Two of the front runners in this class are Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis, and they will clash to determine who could possible face the winner of the highly anticipated lightweight championship between Benson Henderson and UFC newcomer Gilbert Melendez.

Also on the main card are featherweights Erik Koch and Ricardo Lamas. Koch’s only loss was to Chad Mendes, and he’s won his last four. Meanwhile, Lamas is currently on a 3 fight win streak, with one of those wins over Cub Swanson. Lamas has only two losses in his MMA career, both of those coming by TKO. While Koch has TKO’ed two of his opponents during his four fight win streak.
