Fedor Emelianenko Cut By Strikeforce
Following a UFC 133 pre-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White dropped the news that Fedor Emelianenko is now cut. Fedor suffered his third consecutive loss at this past Saturday Strikeforce card in Chicago. When about Fedor White told media,
“He’s being cut, yeah … Why? Do you think we should keep him?”
Dana White also added,
“Having your promotion carried by Fedor is like having your promotion carried by Kimbo Slice”
Fedor still has a valid contract with Showtime. We will have to wait and see if the premium cable channel does something with him or follows Zuffa’s lead and releases him.
Many Fedor fans have been commenting that this opens up the chances of a Fedor vs. Alistair Overeem fight to possibly be worked out by the two camps.
