EliteXC News: Antonio “Big Foot” Silva Test Positive For Steroids

antonio bigfoot silva

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has announced that EliteXC heavyweight champion Antonio “Big Foot” Silva has tested positive for the anabolic steroid Boldenone following his win over Justin Eilers at “EliteXC Unfinished Business”.

Silva, an American Top Team fighter will must serve a 12 month suspension and pay a $2500 fine in order to obtain a fighting license.

Bad news for EliteXC who will have to decide whether to strip Silva of the heavyweight title or just wait around one year for him to defend the title. With EliteXC’s weak heavyweight division, it is a hard to speculate what they will do, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kimbo wearing the belt someday soon.

Wikipedia:

The activity of boldenone is mainly anabolic, with a low androgenic potency. It has a very long half-life, and can show up on a steroid test for up to 1.5 years, due to the long undecylenate ester attached to the parent steroid….The drug is commonly used in doping within bodybuilding, even though this use is illegal. If intended to assist in bodybuilding, the drug is taken as part of a steroid stack of other anabolic steroids, usually with a potent androgen like testosterone as the ‘base’ of the stack.

CBS EliteXC “Unfinished Business” Results Live

EliteXC “Unfinished Business” is set to take place Saturday July 25 from the Stockton Arena in Stockton, CA. The will be EliteXC second show to broadcast live on CBS. With EliteXC’s mainstream fighters on the bench, this show will test weather EliteXC can draw viewers without a name like Kimbo or Gina on the card.

To the hardcore fan, this card is solid top to bottom. Lawler vs. Smith One proved to be a battle before the controversial stoppage at “EliteXC Primetime”. Jake Shields vs. “The Goat” Nick Thompson should be a great fight for the EliteXC welterweight belt.

Good or bad Nick Diaz always puts on a show. Shayna Baszler vs. Cristiane Cyborg might possibly be the most competitive female fight EliteXC has ever put on.

Be sure to check out CageToday.com around 7 pm EST, for the live results of both cards.
