Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller vs Ronaldo ‘Jacaré’ Souza Possible For DREAM 9
According to the Brazilian news site Tatame, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (10-2) is in talks to fight for the DREAM middleweight title against Jason “Mayhem” Miller (21-6) at DREAM 9 on May 26th.
Souza’s coach Josuel Distak:
“Jacaré’s fight will be for the title, at May 26th. The expectations are good and we’re ready to war … We’re still waiting for the confirmation and Dream’s answer, but the rumors say that will be against Jason Miller, but it’s not 100% confirmed yetâ€
Jacare defeated Miller by unanimous decision at DREAM 4 (middleweight grand prix quarter finals), but was later knocked out in the finals by Gegard Mousasi.
With Mousasi moving up to light heavyweight, Jacare is primed to claim the DREAM middleweight belt.
DREAM 9: JZ Cavalcante vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri
According to Sherdog, American Top Team fighter JZ Cavalcante will take on MMA veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri at Dream 9 on May 26 in Saitama, Japan.
JZ (14-2-1) was last defeated by decision to submission master Shinya Aoki at the DREAM 2, after their first fight was ruled a no contest due to illegal elbow strikes by JZ.
Kawajiri (23-5-2) was defeated by Eddie Alvarez in the finals of the DREAM 2008 lightweight grand prix. Since then he defeated Ross Ebanez at the 2009 DREAM featherweight grand prix opening round earlier this month.
