
During last nights HDNets “Inside MMA” former M-1 Global CEO Monty Cox announced his newly formed promotion Adrenaline MMA. With this news also came the announcement that former two time UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia (24-4) has signed on to the promotion for a six fight non-exclusive contract, that will allow him to fight in other promotions.
“I’ll be real active, fighting six or seven times a year….Adrenaline is a new company that’s just starting up, but they’re allowing fighters to fight outside of their organization. That’s huge… Take for instance my last fight. Granted, I loss, but I came out of there unhurt and unscathed. I could have fought a week or two later.”
“Being 32 years old, I have four or five good years ahead of me. I plan to make the most of it.”
“There’s a guy out there named Fedor who I’d like to fight, and I think the only way that’s gonna happen is by me leaving the UFC.”
Also announced by Cox, former IFL heavyweight “Big” Ben Rothwell (29-5) has also signed with the promotion. Rothwell dominated the IFL heavyweight division, but event with 34 professional fights on his record, he has yet to fight any top quality fighters in his career.
Cox announced his intent for Adrenaline MMA to have its debut show June 14 at the Sears Center in Chicago, Illinois.

- Top level welterweight and current DREAM lightweight grand prix fighter, Eddie Alverez has also signed on to the promotion.
- Jeff Monson vs. Pride veteran Mike Russow is stated for the debut show on June 14.
