According to Sherdog, Antonio “Big Foot” Silva (10-1) will face Sergei Kharitonov (15-3) for the EliteXC heavyweight title at “EliteXC Unfinished Business” on July 26 from the Stockton Arena in Stockton, CA

The Russian Top Team fighter Kharitonov, is coming off an impressive win over Alistair Overeem last year at K-1 Hero’s Tournament Final (Video Below). Kharitonov has fought tough fighters like UFC heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum, Pedro Rizzo, Alistair Overeem, Semmy Schilt and Michael Russow.

Sergei Kharitonov could be the one.

Brazilian behemoth Antonio Silva has verbally agreed to face the stoic Russian boxer for the vacant heavyweight crown at EliteXC’s July 26 “Saturday Night Fights” at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, Calif.

The bout is currently pending approval from the California State Athletic Commission, according to a rep from Silva’s American Top Team.

According to SI’s Josh Gross, EliteXC will set return to CBS Primetime on July 26th with a show dubbed “Unfinished Business”, possibly in St. Louis. The card will be headlined by the anticipated rematch of Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith for the EliteXC welterweight title.

According to EliteXC Vice President Jared Shaw, Shields’ opponent for the newly created 170-pound title will be determined this week. Potential challengers include International Fight League champion Jay Hieron, former Bodog champ Nick Thompson, or the recently motivated Paul Daley.

Shields was in line to fight Drew Fickett for the vacant title before injuries nixed the bout. If Silva appears on the card (it’s not a guarantee that he will, right now) he could face IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson, or Robert “Buzz” Berry, who knocked out Ken Shamrock in March.

Unfinished Business, which appears destined for St. Louis, may also feature women’s MMA again as Shayna Baszler-Kelly Kobald is being discussed as potential follow-up to the first card’s Gina Carano-Kaitlin Young bout.

Rumored Fight Card

Antonio “Big Foot” Silva vs. TBA (Roy Nelson, Robert Berry)
