Strikeforce “Triple Threat” Preview

Strikeforce is being held at the HP Pavilion in San Jose California. The card is not filled with the best fights, but in the end I think we will see some new faces emerging. The main event has to be Cung Le, especially since he trains in San Jose and has a huge Vietnamese fan base that always shows support. I’m hoping he tries a suplex or a flying scissor kick against Von Flue. Other main draws include Nam Pham, Bobby southworth, Paul Buentello, and Daniel Puder.
- Jason Von Flue vs. Cung Le:
- Nam Pham vs Josh Thomson
- Gina Carano vs Elaina Maxwell
- Vernon ‘Tiger’ White vs Bobby Southworth
- Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig vs Tony Fryklund
- Ronald Jhun vs Eugene Jackson
- Paul Buentello vs Ruben ‘Warpath’ Villareal : Buentello coming off a win against Tank Abbott, should be interesting to see what is next.
- Mike Cook vs Daniel Puder
- Kyle Leviton vs Rex Richards
- David Smith vs Sean Basset
- Scott Graham vs Drew Dimanlig
- David Barrios vs Anthony Figueroa
This is probably the main event. Cung Le is an awesome fighter, most MMA fans have been waiting for him to come to MMA from SanShou. This will be his first known opponent in his short MMA career. Jason Von Flue has had a reputation for being very durable. After the ultimate fighter Von Flue has become a stepping stone for up and coming fighters. Von Flue will stand their and bang with Le. We will see if Cung Le has transitioned into a true MMA fighter.

I feel like Von Flue vs. Le is a strange match up. I almost feel like they are setting up Von Flue to make Le’s highlight reel because he will take a lot of punishment before getting knocked out.

Le cut open Von Flue in about 3 kicks, so it wasn’t much of a fight. It turned out to be a bad fight to showcase the skill of Le for the audience.
