Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Hughes

Round 1

St. Pierre controls the fight by not allowing Matt Hughes take him down to the canvas. St. Pierre lands some good punches and low kicks early in the first round. In the middle of the round the action stops to warn St. Pierre of low blows. St. Pierre stuffs Matt Hughes’s shoots and lands a huge superman punch, that drops Hughes to the canvas. If St. Pierre had some more time he would of finished Hughes.

St. Pierre TKO’s Matt Hughes at 1:25 of the second round.

Man! I was shocked how one sided this fight was. Georges St. Pierre has definitely improved since there last fight. He played the fight perfectly and stayed away from Matt Hughes “Ground and Pound”. I am still amazed that Matt Hughes the unbeatable man lost.

Comments

  1. The guy is awesome and he deserves to wear the belt. He brings a striking dynamic that is not easily matched, much like Anderson Silva in the middlewight division. They will raise the competition bar some more in the UFC.

  2. Surprised that Hughes lost? You did not see that coming? Then your an idiot. I won big money from jokers like you.

  3. aah the good old days this might have been when everything changed and the bar was raised
