I was disappointed to learn about Serra’s injury but agree that the GSP & Hughes rematch more than made up for the disappontment. I am so glad that GSP beat that arrogant Hughes silly. GSP is turly a class act.

i think people down play serra too much hes a cool dude and i think the way he beat george was impressive… he didnt jsut catch him with a flash knock out he beat him down let him up beat him down and then finished him it was very impressive i think he is an underdog because hughes could pound him out but i think it would go the distance seeing as hughes couldnt finish lytle … i could she the possibility of serra knocking him out on the feat or catchin him with wait hes famous for his subs… serra has lost a few fights to people he should have beat but the guy ahs coem a logn way and he’s still the champ… until then shut up

Here’s the thing last year on the show I really liked Serra but he talks so much crap this year I wanted to see Hughes beat down. Which would have happened.

I have always been a fan of Hughes. I will give Serra credit becuase he did train with the great Gracies and that is really saying something.

Serra was gonna get stomped, then the rematch. Dana’s probably pissed about the lost revenue, because I dont think a non-title match between the two is a good draw. GSP is top 3 for me, and I really dislike Huges, but respect the ability. GO Georges!

i think serra and Matt would be a good because they both r good on the ground and they r ok at striking..this GSP vs Matt is away better fight snd im so happy that serra had to pull out but i do hope to see serra vs matt

I was thinking that Serra vs. Hughes was going to be a good fight. And yeah, I can see how you can think Serra has better striking. But when I saw the two side by side on TUF, I realized just how short Serra is and how much shorter his arms are compared to Hughes. I think that could be the difference if they ever fight.

Actually, I think Matt Serra truly believes he can beat Matt Hughes. I’ll actually go so far as to say Matt Serra is a better striker.

I think Matt Serra’s only chance in that fight would be to “catch” Hughes on the feet. I agree, I’d rather see Hughes GSP 3.

For what it’s worth though, I hope Serra is able to recover in time to keep the belt. I’d rather see him lose it in competition rather than by default, whether it be GSP or Hughes.

The fight between Matt Hughes and GSP is a better fight anyway. Everybody, including Matt Serra knows he was going to get worked anyway.
