Roger Huerta to Train with Team Jackson in NM

By CagE | May 5, 2008

Legendary trainer Greg Jackson revealed, in a recent interview on MMAWeekly Radio, that lightweight contender Roger “El Matador” Huerta will prepare for his fight with Kenny Florian at Jackson’s camp in Albuquerque, NM.

Huerta will join Jackson’s current roster witch include Georges St. Pierre, Keith Jardine, Rashad Evans, Damacio page, and Villasenor.

“He’s a really, really nice guy, great fighter, tons of heart….He kind of mentioned that he would like to come down to New Mexico and try it out. Hopefully it will help everybody and everybody will win.”

Roger Huerta will take on Kenny Florian at UFC 87 on August 9 from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I do. GSP thinks Jackson is his best coach and look at how good he is now. Good move by Huerta.

Although Roger was on the cover of SI, it seems like he has been forgotten recently. He is not mentioned by any MMA magazine in their top ten lightweights, yet fighters that have not fought in over a year or fight once a year are named. Roger is going to sneak up on people and I would put money on him beating Kenny…unless Kenny uses his illegal elbows. Roger always, always, always puts on a great, entertaining fight. Way to go Roger!
