By CagE | April 28, 2009

anderson silva vs. rich franklin

The Dalton Daily News is reporting that Rich “Ace” Franklin has enlist his former foe, Anderson Silva to help him train for the UFC 99 fight with Wanderlei Silva.

Sources close to Silva, who still holds the UFC middleweight title, recently told the Dayton Daily News that the champ has agreed to train with Franklin, who meets dangerous striker Wanderlei Silva at a June 13 UFC 99 event in Germany.

Franklin’s manager, J.T. Stewart, declined to comment. [DDN]

Somebody apparently didn’t tell Anderson Silva:

“He didn’t said any word to me about it, but he’s gonna face a Brazilian, so it’s hard that something will happen. I don’t have anything against Franklin either Wanderlei, both are great fighters. In other situation, I’d train with him, for sure. My gym is open for everyone. Whoever goes there can have classes and I won’t have any problems if he decides to go there, that’s the sports’ globalization …. I’m helping Rafael “Feijão”, Fábio Maldonado, “Dan Dan” and all the guys that will fight here and then I’ll go back to Brazil” [Tatame].

The Spider does offer Franklin the opportunity to join one of his general public classes.
