MMA fans were really expecting something from Urijah Faber but instead get the last look on victory after losing against Renan Barao at UFC 149. Barao was really into each hit and combo he let go against Faber that the latter could not simply figure out what went wrong. Barao did all his kick, jab, and right hands even at a distance. This has led to Barao winning the interim bantamweight from UFC in a unanimous decision in scores of 50-45, 49-46, and 49-46.
Details of Barao vs. Faber Fight
As many expected, the whole bout did not come out to be exciting. Barao and Faber were both playing safe that they respected the word “distance” at every minute of the game. Offense from Faber came as one-dimensional using more of his straight right. Nonetheless, this attack had little to do with his victory on Barao as his reach was short. These advances only provided Barao chances of winning over Faber. Later on the next round, Faber tried to fix his chance by wrestling but Barao had an advantage over this matter. Seeing the whole fight, Barao was more attended and learned every position that Faber made.
Barao’s Victory Over Faber
Every move to come from Faber was an expected action from Barao. He seemed to have learned every move of Faber. Barao probably learned from his previous fights that often ended with severe loss because of his fast antics. Now, Barao made sure that he saw every move Faber made. Even though Barao was thrilled with his victory, the lack of excitement during the whole fight did not receive any praises from MMA fans. Now that Barao won, he will take another level fighting Dominick Cruz after the latter recovers from his knee injury. For Raber, this is his 5th loss since his bouts in WEC.
