« UFC 85 News: James Irvin Injured, Rashad Evans to take on Luis Cane | Main | UFC 87 Main Event Still Not Announced, Coming Soon »

Rashad Evans Dropped from UFC 85

By CagE | May 20, 2008

The UFC has pulled Rashad Evens out of UFC 85, after James Irvin suffered a broken foot in training.

This contradicts earlier reports that Rashad Evans would be taking on Luis Cane on the card.

After more twists and turns than a Hollywood thriller, June 7th’s UFC 85: Bedlam show has finally been set with 11 fights. Included is a move of the intriguing middleweight clash between Nate Marquardt and Thales Leites to the pay-per-view portion of the card, and a scrapping of the Rashad Evans vs James Irvin bout due to a broken foot suffered by Irvin.

Evans, who was originally scheduled to take on Chuck Liddell on the card before ‘The Iceman’ tore a hamstring in his right leg, will not be fighting on June 7th.

Jesus, 1st it was Liddell vs Shogun. Then Liddell vs Evans, after that Evans vs Irvin. Now Irvin gets hurt and Evans gets dropped from the card!

They should of just let him fight T.Silva from the start.

Or set up a match against R. Franklin since he’s moving up to light heavywieght. And Evans is a smaller light heavy a good test for Franklin in ufc 86 or 87

it’s a good choice to scratch the fight. Evans has been screwed with enough, now he can regroup and focus on one opponent
