PRIDE FC Shockwave 2006 Highlights

Pride’s season comes to a close with the annual New Years Eve show. Their were some solid fights, but the card overall was a little lackluster. Fedor defended his title agians Mark Hunt, but he wasn’t very impressive. Hunt gave him a fight and controlled Fedor most of the fight except at the very end. Gomi pounded Ishida and Hansen lost to a guy wearing clown colored stretchy pants. Josh Barnett loses a decision to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
Mitsuhiro Ishida vs Takanori Gomi
Gomi imposes his will and shows why he is considered by some to be the best in the lightweight division.
Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki vs. Joachim Hansen
Aoki pulls a sick choke on Hansen. I think it is called a Gogoplata chock. Hansen is no chump, he is one of the top lightweight fighters in the world.
