After days of speculation that Zuffa LLC would be breaking up Pride Fighting Championship, the Japaneses online newspaper Nikkan Sports is reporting that Pride FC is set to return on August 18th. The event will be held at the Saitama Super Arena, the same building that hosted so many past Pride events. The show is slated to be a Japanese fighter showcase featuring Hidehiko Yoshida. Zuffa LLC purchased Pride from DSE earlier this year, but not much has been mentioned on what they plan to do with the organization. Many of the big name fighters already came over to the UFC including, Dan Henderson, Mirko Cro Cop, Antionio Rodrigo Noguiera and Rampage Jackson.

I hope Pride is the same and does not have so much filler like UFC pay per views. It was a really good show before and reminded me of a video game where there is fight right after fight. I would like to see Pride get some good fighters and hold a head to head PPV once a year where the Pride and UFC champions face each other for big money and a trophy…kind of like the Superbowl with the AFC and NFC.

I watched Pride over UFC everytime. Although I used to get both most the time. Pride always put their best out there. Those boys came to fight & WIN, not just put on a show. When do we get to see Fedor fight???? Pride & UFC / that would be cool!
