Pride 33: The Second Coming Preview

Pride 33 Last Man Standing

Wanderlei Silva vs. Dan Henderson

Its been seven years since these two fought each other. Silva defeated Dan Henderson back in PRIDE 12 by decision. The way I see it, if Silva has a good fight and his head is in the fight, he will win. Silva is an emotional fighter. Emotional fighters usually either blow their opponent away or they get upset. Dan Henderson on the other hand is a thinking fighter, he is very technical and well trained. The fight could go either way but I am going with:

Silva by KO/TKO in the third round.

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Alistair Overeem

Another rematch of a 2005 fight, which left Overeem out due to strikes in the first round. Rua’s the clear favorite.

Rua by submission the first round

Takanori Gomi vs. Nick Diaz

I think this is going to be the fight of the night. Gomi already a Legend in some peoples eyes takes on Nick Diaz who comes to Pride from the UFC. Nick Diaz has a lot of experience against opponents with a strong records. He also has be a UFC work horse, fighting in one event after another. I gained true respect for Diaz when he fought Diego Sanchez. Diaz showed he could bang with the best and can get out of submissions. Gomi is the clear favorite, but I am going to go out on a limb with:

Diaz by TKO/KO in the second

Frank Trigg vs. Kazuo Misaki

Trigg is coming off a big win against Jason Miller.

I have it Misaki by decission over Trigg

Joachim Hansen vs. Jason Ireland

Hansen by TKO/KO in the first round.

Travis Wiuff vs. TBA

Mac Danzig vs. Hayato â“‚¬Å“Machâ“‚¬Â Sakurai

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. SOKOUDJOU

Sergei Kharitonov vs. Mike Russow
