UFC “Rio” Anderson Silva vs Yushin Okami Official

The Ultimate Fighting Championships have announced that Anderson Silva will defend his middleweight title against top contender Yushin Okami at UFC in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 27th.

There first fight in 2006 at Rumble on the Rock ended by disqualification after Anderson Silva landed a illegal upkick that forced Yushin Okami out of the fight. Since that loss, The Spider has racked up a impressive 14 fight winning streak.

UFC 122: Vitor Belfort vs Yushin Okami

Vitor Belfort will have to get past tough Japanese fighter Yushin Okami if he wants that title shot with Anderson Silva.

UFC 122 is set for Nov. 13 from the König Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. The show will be broadcast in the US for free on SpikeTV.

UFC 104: Yushin Okami vs Chael Sonnen


The Ultimate Fighting Championships announced via is Japaneses website, that Yushin Okami will take on Chael Sonnen at UFC 104 on October 24th from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Okami hasn’t fought since December of 2008, defeating BJJ master Dean Lister via unanimous decision at UFC 92 “The Ultimate 2008″. Okami’s true power comes in neutralizing his opponents strengths, which makes for boring fights. His style has made it difficult to gain wide spread fan acceptance.

After making the transition for the WEC to the UFC, Sonnen was submitted by Demian Maia at UFC 95, but came back strong at UFC 98 “Evans vs Machida” and took the decision win over Dan Miller.
