Strikeforce “Lawler vs Shields” On June 6th Announced

Strikeforce announced today their second Showtime show, dubbed Strikeforce “Lawler vs. Shields”. Strikeforce will venture out of San Jose for the June 6th show, set to take place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. Headlining the card is a non-title catchweight fight between former EliteXC welterweight champion Jake Shields (22-4-1) and former EliteXC middleweight champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler (16-4).

Robbie Lawler:

“It’s a great opportunity to fight another top-ranked fighter …. Scott Coker really stepped up and I’m glad to be fighting for him and Strikeforce …. We were all unsure of where our next fight would be (referring to the former EliteXC stable of fighters), so we’re glad someone with his experience stepped in. He has been good to us.”
