UFC 108: Sean Sherk vs Rafaello Oliveira

Sean Sherk breaks the news that he will be fighting Rafaello “Tractor” Oliverira at UFC 108 on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas.

Sherk has lost two of his last three fights inside the Octagon, since testing positive for steroids following his UFC 73 fight with Hermes Franca.

“I’m fighting January 2 against Rafaello Oliveira … I haven’t studied him yet, but I know he has fought my training partner Nick Lentz in Dallas. Lentz beat him, and he’s been able to give me some good advice on him.”

Oliveira (9-2) is a virtual unknown, losing his UFC debut to Nick Lentz at UFC 103.

Something else interesting, Sherk (33-4-1) doesn’t want a rematch with Frankie Edgar,

“To be honest with you, I’m not really interested in fighting him again. I’d rather fight the big guns. I’d love to fight B.J., Kenny, or Diego. Somebody like that.”

Frankie Edgar out pointed the “Muscle Shark” Sean Sherk, winning the unanimous decision at UFC 98.

Lauzon has been forced out of his UFC 103 fight with Rafaello Oliveira due to a back injury, according to MMAWeekly. He is expected to undergo a MRI to determent the severity of his injury. No replacement opponent has yet to be named.

Lauzon (12-2) lost his one and only fight in the UFC to veteran fighter Spencer “The King” Fisher at UFC 64 “Unstoppable”. He has since racked up an impressive eight fight winning streak in smaller organizations.
