Strikeforce light heavyweight champion King Mo will likely defend his title against Team Black House fighter “Feijao” Cavalcante at Strikeforce “Houston” on August 21st in Houston, according to FiveOunces.
The first shocking upset of the night came as the surprisingly well mannered Mike Kyle upset Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante on the preliminary card of Strikeforce “Lawler vs. Shields”. Feijao who is good friends and training partner with Anderson Silva and Antonio “Big Nog” Nogueira, seemed overwhelmed by the striking of Mike Kyle.
The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) indefinitely suspended Mike Kyle for his actions at WEC 20 after Kyle illegally kneed Brian Olsen in the head and then continued to try to punch Olsen as two referees were physically restraining him.
Finally a replacement has been found.
“Touted Brazilian Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante will face fellow Pro Elite veteran Jared Hamman in a featured light heavyweight bout for Strikeforce “Lawler vs. Shields” on June 6 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.”
“The matchup replaces a previously announced tilt for the Strikeforce light heavyweight title between champion Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Feijao. Sobral withdrew from the bout last week to prepare for the birth of his second daughter in late May.”
