UFC On Versus 4: Nate Marquardt Not Medically Cleared, Kicked Out Of The UFC

Nate Marquardt was scratched from his main event fight with Rick Story earlier this afternoon. Charlie Brenneman steps in to replace him. Pat Barry vs. Cheick Kongo has been promoted to the main event. No word on the cause of Marquardt’s failed medicals, but UFC President is flipping mad. White furious on his twitter account, kicks Marquardt out of the UFC for good.

“I’m sure you heard that Nate Marquardt is out,” White said in a short video clip posted on his Twitter account. “It’s true. He failed his medicals. Not only is he out of this fight, out of the main event on Versus, he will no longer be with the UFC.”

UFC on Versus 4: Nate Marquardt vs Anthony Johnson

Veteran Nate Marquardt will likely move down in weight to face UFC rinsing star Anthony Johnson in the main event at UFC on Versus 4, according to Versus.

The fight will take place on June 26th at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Both these guys are legitimate middleweights, but this fight will be contested at 170 lbs.
